Making your own cheese at home is not only one of the most satisfying and joyful things you can do, but it is also incredibly straightforward once you've mastered the key techniques.
In this class you will learn cheesemaking basics and the role of each step in the cheesemaking process - from pasteurisation, to renneting, culturing, stirring, pressing and salting - before putting the theory into practice as we make four of the most versatile and delicious cheeses for home cooks;
A lactic curd cheese (Persian feta)
A cultured curd cheese (feta)
A cooked curd cheese (haloumi)
A whey cheese (ricotta)
You will of course get to take your cheese home at the end of the day. The day includes lunch with wine, as well as plentiful cheesy nibbles to keep you energised, as well as everything you need to continue your cheesemaking adventures at home (such as a selection of baskets, a cheesemaking culture and rennet).
